Bank of India marked 75 years of operations in Singapore on Sept 9, celebrating a milestone that reflects the longstanding financial and economic links between India and Singapore.

The occasion coincided with the 121st Foundation Day of Bank of India, bringing together customers, dignitaries, business partners and bank officials to commemorate more than seven decades of the institution’s presence in the Republic.

Ms Sudhi Choudhary, Deputy High Commissioner of India to Singapore, attended the celebration along with senior Bank of India officials, including Executive Director Subrat Kumar, Chief General Manager and Group Chief Risk Officer P. Hari Kishan and Bank of India Singapore Chief Executive Purusottam Jena.

The event highlighted Bank of India’s journey in Singapore since establishing its presence here 75 years ago, and the relationships it has built with customers and businesses over the decades.

The Singapore branch has also been part of the broader growth in economic and commercial engagement between India and Singapore, serving customers as business and investment links between the two countries expanded.

A Customer Meet was organised as part of the anniversary programme, giving senior bank officials an opportunity to interact with clients, acknowledge their longstanding support and discuss the relationships that have contributed to the bank’s growth in Singapore.

The occasion was also used to recognise employees, partners and customers who have been part of the institution’s journey.

For Bank of India, the Singapore anniversary came during another significant year in its history.

Founded 121 years ago, the bank has grown from its beginnings in India into a financial institution with an international presence. The Singapore operations represent one of its longstanding overseas connections.

Bank officials described the twin anniversaries as a celebration of “trust, growth, excellence and enduring relationships”, while also emphasising the importance of looking towards the future.

The Sept 9 gathering reflected both aspects of that journey — celebrating the institution’s history while strengthening its engagement with customers and partners.

With 121 years behind the institution and 75 of those years spent serving customers in Singapore, the anniversary was ultimately a celebration of relationships built over generations.

It also underscored the enduring role that financial institutions such as Bank of India have played in supporting the growing connections between India and Singapore.
